After many years of clinical skin care experience, Susan Hoover, R.N. and Licensed Esthetician began formulating Paradise Skin Products. Aided by her work in dermatology and plastic surgery, Hoover has become a true leader in advanced skin care.

With a nursing background in Intensive Care, Emergency Room and Surgical Recovery, Susan saw the devastation upon the body and skin caused by accidents, sickness, and surgery. Later, as she worked with dermatologists and plastic surgeons, she began to see the need for a skin care line that would help those with aging and sun-damaged skin. She wanted to make sure that the formulation of these products would include ingredients that were restorative and therapeutic, so that those who had any trauma due to accidents or surgery would be able to find restoration and healing to their skin.

Paradise Skin Products is dedicated to the formulation of a cosmeceutical line that is exceptionally pure at the deepest level. Our goal is to create the most natural and therapeutic products on the market that will achieve extremely beneficial physical and visual changes to the skin. We will continue in our quest to integrate health and beauty in order to maintain optimal skin results for our clientele.

Our product line is different from others, due to an extraction of impurities on the molecular level. This innovative extraction process, known as Chiral Correct, increases product purity, concentration, and effectiveness, which in turn allows our products to be Toxin-Free.

Chiral molecules have a unique three dimensional shape composed of two sides that are mirror images of each other, yet not completely identical. The two sides, referred to as "L" and "D", have identical physical properties, but produce drastically different responses. Cell receptors are selective; they look for specific matching sides of the molecule to connect to that fit, function properly, perform, and meet their needs. For example, your right hand and left hand are mirror images, but you cannot wear a left glove on your right hand. The arrangement of your thumb and fingers in three dimensions makes your right hand and your left hand distinctively different from one another. It won't fit, function properly or meet your needs.

Chiral Correct means using the correct side of molecules to assure the identity, delivery, quality, purity and strength of the substance. The FDA states that "Using the correct side reduces the dosage needed by half, improves efficiency and eliminates the effects of the undesired side effects, such as irritation, sensitivities and toxicity." This is important for rosacea, acne, dermatitis and sensitive skin types in need of immediate benefits and relief.

Methylparaben, an antiseptic and preservative agent, widely used in cosmetics and skin care products. Research indicates that this ingredient also advances the aging process in skin cells when exposed to UV rays, causing wrinkles and liver spots. It is included in powders and lotions for its high antibacterial effects. The agent ironically is used in products intended to reduce the skin’s exposure to ultraviolet rays, such as sunscreen.

Researchers at the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine conducted a study to determine side effects from normal use of the agent, which has been deemed safe under government standards. The researchers added methylparaben to skin cells in a density similar to that used in products. The skin cells were then exposed to about 30 millijoules of ultraviolet rays per square centimeter, about the average daily amount on a summer day. The study revealed almost three times more damage on the skin where the Methylparaben had been applied. Professor Yoshikawa who conducted this study noted that the findings confirm that Methylparaben, when exposed to ultraviolet rays, advances the aging process in skin cells.
